Ways to Send Money from Philippines to USA
I’m just wondering on what are the ways to send money from Philippines to USA because I haven’t tried it before. My dad asked me a favor if I could send him money right away instead to wait for my brother-in-law to arrive in United States this coming Nov. 11 for their upcoming Wowowee show live in Las Vegas on Nov. 15. He needed the money for some personal reasons and since I’ll be sending US Dollars I’m a bit confused.
The first thing that entered in my mind was Western Union Money Transfer but I’m a bit hesitant coz’ it is much expensive as I’ll be sending more than $500, so I tried other options. I remembered the other money transfer service called Xoom Global Money Transfer so I immediately go to their website and explore it, to my disappointment they don’t offer any Ways to send Money from Philippines to USA.
So after checking the Xoom Global Money Transfer I search another one and found MoneyGram I immediately check the price on how much will be the cost, to my surprise it was a rousing P2000 for just money transfer. So I immediately ditched the MoneyGram in my list and continued to find other options.
Oh, by the way, I know some of you were wondering why just I don’t use PayPal instead so that it’s easier and cheaper. Well, my dad doesn’t know how to even explore the net so that would be a big problem. Anyways, after exploring some possible options, I called the nearest Western Union Money Transfer here in my location. I asked how much it will cost me and the operator told me that I’ll be charge $18 USD for the principal amount bracket $200-$3000. That is way cheaper than MoneyGram.
After all my inquiries regarding on Ways to Send Money from Philippines to USA, I called my dad and told him that Western Union Money Transfer is the cheapest. Then after all the effort I made, he told me that I should go to the nearest Philippine National Bank branch here and inquire because they are near to a PNB branch in Los Angeles. He added that the cost on sending money on PNB is way cheaper for only $6 if you’re a Global Filipino Member of the said bank. Well I’m a member, because he sends money via PNB Global Filipino Remittance so I think I’ll do the same thing.
After all my efforts on finding Ways to Send Money from Philippines to USA, I ended up following what my dad said and I’ll do it tomorrow.
As I’ve said dude my dad is not a techie kind of guy, and he dont have OFW sim his using smart as his roaming sim. hehe
hmmm, what about GCash?? isnt it that Globe is Global already with their OFW sim? isn’t that GCash activated too? So why not try to use Gcash, though I have no idea on how much it would cost you just to send money from here to US
