UFC 125: Resolution, Edgar Vs Maynard

It will be a very good new year for all of us and for all the MMA fans around the globe this coming Saturday, January 1st, 2011. The two best lightweights will collide and will battle each other wishing that they walk away with shining belt on their waist. Maynard will try to get this championship while Edgar will try to erase the only stain in his name.

These two warriors originally met inside the octagon at UFC: Fight Night 13 back in April of 2008. In what is a rare occurrence, Maynard fought a sizable chunk of the bout with reckless abandon, winging powerful haymakers. He did of course look to utilize his powerful wrestling, and in the end, “The Bully” was just too big for Edgar. Maynard was awarded the unanimous decision win, and a title shot looked all but inevitable for Maynard.

Both of this fighters are hungry on their own part. Maynard is coming of 5 Wins but not all of them are impressive enough to take down Edgar. On the other hand Edgar is coming from a win against BJ Penn but he should have another constant movement and quick strikes to savage this fight.

Hopefully, this fight will be as good as the UFC 124 GSP vs Koscheck and will go down the wire. But more likely will go to technical side and some dramas will come into scene if Edgar add his mobile movement and array of strikes in his arsenal. After all he could be the only one who could handle “The Bully”.
