First Solar Eclipse of 2010 this Friday

A cool sensation will descend over some parts of the world on Friday afternoon with a solar eclipse said to be the longest of its kind in the next 1,000 years.
The Solar Eclipse on Friday January 15, 2010 will be the first this year. This Eclipse is an annular one – the moon will pass in front of the sun, but will not block it completely, as in a total eclipse. Instead, there will be a ring of fire, or a solar ring, visible around the edge of the darkened moon.
The Eclipse will be seen all over the Indian Ocean especially in Maldives Island, the best place to see the said eclipse as it will be seen for almost 11 minutes long.

It’s been two weeks ago when we went to Nido Forified Science Discovery Center at SM Mall of Asia. It’s been a while and I didn’t have time to blog about it since I am busy during holiday season. It was a great experience for us, me and my family enjoyed it as well as my lil’ brother. The best thing is that our entrance to SM Science Discovery Center is free, because of my son’s milk (obviously NIDO) promo free pass. The mechanics is, for every purchase of Nido 1.4kg and above, you’ll get a free pass. We have collected 3 free pass and we then we took advantage (hehe). Since we are all four people including my son Miguel, We have to pay 1 pass to get in. Good thing, the entrance fee for adult and kids is different, 300php for Adults and only 150php for kids below 4 feet. So we claim the free pass for 3 adult and we paid 150php for my kid.

Today will be the opening of the 40th Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association (MMTLBA), the top and the most popular Filipino-Chinese Basketball League in the country. The Tiong Lian Basketball Tournament will be held at the Jacinto Tiu Court inside the Xavier School Campus in Little Baguio, San Juan City.
Xavier School will be this year’s host of Tiong Lian. They are slightly favored to be the champion and complete its third straight title run. (more…)

woohoo! my site is now hosted on Dreamhost! It’s been a while since I started blogging, I started my site with my first hosting provider, eweb, a local hosting here in the Philippines. Since I’m new to blogging I didn’t have an idea on what’s the good reliable hosting, so I took my friend’s advice to go for eweb hosting. For a low cost web hosting, the service of eweb base on up-time is so wonderful, I didn’t encounter any downtime on my site during my stay on eweb.com.ph. But it came a time that I encountered a problem that my friend also experienced. The robots.txt file that I have to put on my site was all mess, it didn’t work like I wanted to. So that’s the time I realized that I needed other hosting provider than this one.
