The Act of a “Professional Basketball Player”
Posted by Mao as Issues, PBA, Personal, Sports, team pilipinas
Yesterday is the debut of Japeth Aguilar as an Smart-Gilas RP Team player for this conference in the PBA after being traded to Talk N’ Text Phone Pals from Burger King Whoppers. But his debut was spoiled by a fight between Burger King’s Wynne Arboleda and a paying fan named Alain Katigbak. And the game that has a lot of banging bodies went to Burger King’s way and won it 115-105.

This incident that happened was an act of a “Professional Basketball Player” in Wynne Arboleda’s belief and the rest of Burger King Whoppers including their head coach Yeng Guiao.
What I don’t understand on these players especially Wynne Arboleda is the fact that they are playing rude basketball and not physical basketball. You see, it’s not physical basketball anymore if your team has given 5 flagrant fouls right? Or it’s just an incident? I think not.
My theory on what happened is this:
Yeng Guiao who felt sorry for himself because Japeth Aguilar doesn’t want to play in his Team then ordered his team to be physical throughout the ball game. Japeth knows that he has a lot to learn from coach Rajko Toroman who on my opinion is way better coach than Yeng Guiao who proved nothing. And by the way Yeng Guiao didn’t even have a championship in any All-Filipino Conference that makes him worst coach.
After Guiao ordered his team to be physical, the players responded and with their little brain, they interpreted the word “physical” to “rude” and began throwing elbows and fouling the amateur laden team in a hard way.
The Burger King Whoppers became rude when they felt that they are being out class by the Smart-Gilas RP Team. It started when JV Casio started torching them from the outside and then Wynne Arboleda couldn’t do anything and throws an elbow into Casio’s face from fighting a screen set by JV. Then again Casio continued to wax hot and makes Arboleda as his crosshair, he blew-out Arboleda with his crossover move and then another hit given by Arboleda in Casio’s head. And then his team mates wants to be on the center stage joined the rudeness of their team when Ronnie Matias threw an elbow on Chris Tiu then the so called veteran Gary David intentionally-fouled Marc Barroca hard in the head that could have been an easy get away for Marc Barroca. Lastly when Mac Baracael could have shoot the ball for an easy lay up when the rude Wynne Arboleda intentionally went beneath Baracael. Then after getting a call from the refs and ejected, He went straight to the fan and throws kicks and punches to the helpless fan.
Is this an act of a Professional Basketball Player? Or should I say an act of a Professional ball club? Did not these so called Professional Players thought that maybe one of their opponents idolizes them and then played like a**h*les? I know that the fan could have cross the line verbally but as a Professional Basketball Player you should not do those kinds of things especially to the fans. The Players should know that the fans are the life of this league and not just those gigantic corporations that owns their respective ball clubs.
The PBA’s commissioner should give a penalty or fine to these players especially Wynne Arboleda and talk to BK’s management for letting their players act like that and do nothing.
Now I know why many people thought that collegiate basketball leagues like UAAP and NCAA are the no.1 league in the country and not the Professional Basketball League like PBA because of this so called Act of a “Professional Basketball Player”.
